As it well known, Apple has launched their first new MacBook Pro in 18 months. It is too long for Apple fans to wait, and they hope it better be worth. For other tech fans, maybe it is another good chance for them to joke on Apple.
As what Apple says on their website, the New MacBook is “faster and more powerful than before, yet remarkably thinner and lighter. It has the brightest, most colorful Mac notebook display ever. And it introduces the Touch Bar — a Multi-Touch enabled strip of glass built into the keyboard for instant access to the tools you want, right when you want them.”
Obviously, the Touch Bar is the biggest feature of Apple’s new laptop. It is a new OLED touch panel above their standard keyboard. Besides, it replaces the previous multi-function keys. They are dynamic shortcuts to functions, including volume, window management, and even emoji.
On the other hand, there is a strip contains Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button on the right-hand side. It is absolutely similar to the iPhone and iPad’s idea. It allows users to unlock their laptop and confirm payments.
The new MacBook Pro also has two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports along each side. Besides, it does not come with SD card reader, HDMI port. There is no global standard USB type-A port. You need existing accessories if you want to use USB-A ports. I believe it is a good hook for those who want to joke on Apple.
Except for the new Touch Bar, the thinner and lighter design is another powerful selling point. New color (space gray) could be another good reason for Apple fans to buy one. The 13-inch version starts at $1,899 CAD, and the 15-inch version starts at $2,999. The prices are higher than their MacBook (from $1,649 CAD) and MacBook Air (from $1,199). However, all the new features are trying to prove the new MacBook Pro is more valuable. Therefore, it could explain why there is no new MacBook Air launch in the Mac Event.
The new MacBook Pro has so many things to touch, and it is at a great price (base on their own comparison). If you are not an Apple fan, will you but one?
