GIGABYTE G1 GTX 980Ti Review

The Gigabyte G1 GTX 980Ti starts at $649 USD which is quite close to the reference price. Performance wise it is quite close to other models and the GTX Titan X. This GPU has a base clock of 1190MHz which can boost up to 1279MHz. It has 6 gigabytes of GDDR5 and a memory speed of 7010MHz. This is very similar to the MSI model but that is more expensive than this. This has metal plating around the fans at the top and length wise this is the longest 980Ti. The length is a crazy 11 and 3 quarter inches! Wow!

Gigabyte’s signature Windforce fans come back with three fans at 80mm. Right below it is one massive heatsink that touches from edge to edge. This GPU still has Gigabyte’s stop capability where the fans stop when it is not processing anything video heavy. The Windforce logo goes on whenever it starts processing something heavy. Backplate is slightly thicker and has well-placed vents that still maintains this nice look yet helps exhausts the GPU. Any case with a window will benefit greatly from this. People peering in will be saying wow and awesome instead of yuck or ugly. Powering this beast requires two 8-pin connectors.

The IO ports consist of a pair of DVI ports, one HDMI and three displayports. It has decent acoustics and is able to stay in the upper ranks of GTX 980Tis.

Overall, this is a pretty good deal at this cheaper price while getting great performance.
