Microsoft held an event in Shanghai today and they announced a new device to their surface lineup, simply called the Surface Pro. It’s a little confusing that they dropped the numeric title and went with just the Surface pro but whatever, moving on. The new surface pro offers configurations with intel m3, i5 and i7 7th gen Kaby Lake CPUs, up to 16gb or ram, up to a 1tb SSD and intel iris plus graphics. With the new Kaby Lake chip, Mircosoft claims that the Surface Pro can get up to 13.5 hours of video playback, which is a boost from 9 hours on the pro 4. Some other changes include being more lightweight, better sounding speakers, more curved corners, fanless cooling for the i5 model, Bluetooth 4.1, and a new hinge on the kickstand that folds back up to 165 degrees. Other than that, the screen I still 12.3 inches with the same resolution, external ports remain the same. There will also be a new surface pen, with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, and the surface pro will be the first surface device to support tilt sensitivity on surface pens. Oh and taking a page from the surface laptop, the type cover will also have alcantara fabric for the signature type covers. The base model surface pro will start at $799 and will ship on June 15. What do you guys think of the Surface Pro? Leave a comment down below.

Huawei also held a press conference today and they introduces 3 new devices, the Matebook X, matebook e, and Matebook D. Both the D and X are laptops while the Matebook E is a convertible. The Matebook E is a 12 inch 2-1 with a folio keyboard and a 2k touch screen.  The Matebook D is a 15.6inch laptop that can be equipped with an i7 or i5, Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU and up to 16gb of ram. The Matebook X, is the more interesting device of the 3 since it seems to be a competitor to the 12in MacBook. The X has a 13inch gorilla glass screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 4.4 mm bezel. It also can be configured with an i5 or i7 cpu and the power button also doubles as a fingerprint reader. The Matebook X is Huawei’s first real windows 10 laptop. No word on pricing just yet.

Some bad news for Red dead redemption fans. Earlier this year Rockstar games officially announced red dead redemption 2 and the trailer that followed claimed that the game would be dropping sometime fall 2017. Well yesterday, on their site, rockstar games has now confirmed that the launch will now take place sometime in spring of 2018. They said that this new game will be the first rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware and that some extra time will be necessary to ensure that they can deliver the best experience possible to their fans. THey apologized in their post and also mentioned that they are firm believers in delivering a game only when its ready. I mean you can’t really fault them for that, but hey, at least they included some new screenshots in the post to tie us over. Ooooh pretty screenshots.

It’s time for bem bem bem bem bem bem lightning round.

Samsung has plans on unveiling a stretchable display at the display week 22017 symposium.Sources say that the display can be stretched like a balloon and can be dented up to 12 mm and still retain it original shape. I’m trying to think of what possible use cases for this would be… I’m gonna have to stretch my imagination a lit to come up with something.

Destiny 2 for PC will support 144Hz refresh rate displays, 21 by 9 aspect ratios, and will include a field of view slider in the game at launch. However there is no release date just yet for the PC version, but it should be nailed down in the coming weeks.

Blizzard is planning to expand the overwatch pro league to some aspiring pro players this summer with the kick off of the Overwatch Contenders.

Ikea is announcing its own line of smart lighting systems that will be compatible with google home, applehome kit and amazon alexa. It’s called tradfri.trod free? Trade fry? Hoefully the installation is easier than the pronunciation.

And get your rumormill salt shakers ready, someone just posted a picture online of what could be a new titan gpu. Titan volta? Maybe? Or it’s just a fancy new titan cooler. But apparently, the dude that posted it is an intern at NVIDIA. He also posted a picture of his id card… which I don’t think is smart… cuz like.. Embargos and stuff… and being fired or what not.
