Windows Central got the low-down from Microsoft about Windows 10’s new game mode, what it does and how it works. The main goal for game mode is to provide consistency. Game mode will prevent system tasks from stealing resources from games allowing for more steady frame rates and performance in general. Game mode will also limit CPU thread contention between system processes and games which will speed things up even further. Microsoft says that Win32 PC games will see some benefits with game mode, it will actually be universal windows platform games that will see the biggest improvements. Game mode is available today for members of the Windows Insiders Program and will come to all windows 10 owners sometime in the spring with the creators’ update.

Google announced that it will be adding javascript extensions to its list of restricted file extensions for Gmail starting next month on February 13th. The reason why is because javascript .js files are increasingly being used as a form of malware. Users will receive a warning if they try to upload a banned file type. IF you have to send a javascript file, it’s suggested that you use google drive or google cloud storage instead.
